The club has over 50 members who have S-gauge model railroading as a common interest, but also may have specific areas of interest such as Collecting, Displaying, A.C. Gilbert American Flyer, Lionel American Flyer, S-scale modeling, Hi-Rail, and Narrow Gauge Sn3.

Membership in the Southern California S-Gaugers Club is open to all but the emphasis of the club is aimed at people interested in some aspect of S-gauge model railroading. Dues are a modest $10.00 per year with an additional one-time initiation fee of $60.00 that includes one S-gauge club commemorative car. The membership year runs from July 1 through June 30. Dues are used for club expenses and as an indicator of continued interest in club activities and goals. Visitors are always welcome but only paid members can participate in club elections.
